Memorial Day Weekend is the traditional summer kickoff. Due to all the money I’m already set to spend this summer (thanks, Ireland), I decided to have a low key four days. I did a day trip to Gettysburg yesterday (which will be my next post), and am going to Marsh Creek for a few hours

I’m a big fan of roadtrips, but am consitently dissapointed that on the majority of these lists, most of the roadtrips take place either out west or down
Why Country? I publically hated country music for years. It mainly had to do with high school insecurities, the kind where you have a carefully constructed image of yourself you want to project. See, while I grew up in a developement, my school district was extremely rural and had a reputation as a “hick” school.

I absolutely love the summer, but don’t do well with extreme heat, and was lucky enough to spend my summers growing up (and parts of my subsequential adult summers) in Northeast PA. I was also privy to a newer home that doesn’t overheat, a backyard swimming pool, and plenty of friends with pools and lakes of their own.
I’m a big fan of Manayunk, and due to it’s (sort of) close proximity and a few good friends entrenched in it’s hills, I frequently end up there on weekends I promise myself I’m going to stay in Lancaster and save money (2/3rds of my weekends that start with this noble goal don’t end well).
