2015 New Year’s Resolutions Part 2

One comment

It’s on to Part 2 of my New Year’s resolutions. And you know what? I’m already off to a solid start. Last weekend I trotted out my snowshoes, and I have XC ski plans for next weekend already, as well as curling and Lake Placid in February. I’m pretty much already doing better than I did last year. I typically broke down my list into 10 and 10, however this version is going to be a little bit shorter-I’m trying to keep my expectations reasonable and all. So without further ado, here is the remaining items on my list of New Year’s Resolutions:

10) Do a Tough Mudder or Half Marathon-

I think it’s everyone’s New Years resolution more or less to get into better shape, and this is partially mine. The thing is, not to brag, I do work out regularly and probably am in the best shape I’ve been in for a while. The other thing is that unless I have something to work or prepare for, I’m more or less in maintenance mode, and this could probably be the catalyst to just get me up to the next step. I did a Tough Mudder two years ago and enjoyed it, but didn’t really try and compete or make any sort of time-10 miles was the most (still) I’ve ever ran and just finishing was enough for me. I’d like to do one again but actually train (somewhat) and try to do well. As for the half marathon-I never thought I’d ever have a want to do one, but so many people have been posting about them on my social media channels and the FOMA is strong in me.

11) Get My Social Media Numbers Doubled-

This was goal of mine last year, and will probably continue to be every year as long as I’m sticking with this here blog. I did a decent job upping both my twitter and Facebook followers but would like to double both in the upcoming year. Any tips on this would be appreciated (and don’t say “write better”-I’m working full steam with what I got).

12) Get published again somewhere-

Apologies if these are boring “businessy” type resolutions, but I can’t get around that. I’d really like to get published in another blog, or website in relations to travel or PA travel. If I got paid, that would not only satisfy a New Year’s resolutions, but also my “dream” section of the high school yearbook, where I wanted to “do something I loved, while getting paid to write on the side.”

13) Get contributing bloggers-

Out of all my writing goals, I think this might be the one I’m going to pursue the most stringently. I’d love to get some contributing guest bloggers on the site to help give some insight into places I haven’t been and to just get a new view of things (also: less work for me!).

14) Go on a Cemetery or Ghost Tour-

I wrote about cemetery tours this past Halloween and really want to do one now. In the same vein I’d like to do a couple of ghost tours-I always like that stuff and PA is a treasure trove of options to pick from.

15) Surprise Roadtrip-

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, but just need to find the right partner in crime. You find a friend and each pick a weekend. Then you each go about planning something for said weekend, leading to a surprise trip for the other party. I think that this sounds awesome. I think the reason I’ve yet to do this is because I’m a control freak and needs to be involved in planning all facets of every trip I go on.

What was anyone else’s resolutions? Has anyone been (not to brag…again) getting off to as good a start as I?
