I always try to lay a little low during January and February, it’s the calm before the storm that is March. I didn’t think I’d have anything vastly exciting to report back on these next few weeks and was going to try and devote some time to writing about some local stuff to do here in Lancaster.
It turns out that I won’t be spending a weekend here until mid-March.
- Tomorrow I’m on my way to NYC, specifically Astoria, Queens to see my college friend, and fellow teacher’s new apartment and hopefully meet up with some more friends in the city.
- Saturday I’m driving back to NEPA for a party and staying there till Monday to get in some XC skiing on Sunday.
- Next weekend, I’ve been persuaded to join some friends in Sea Isle City for a polar bear plunge into the Atlantic. I’ve always had the strange want to throw myself into a body of water mid-winter, call my crazy, so I’m excited for this. I always have a nice three day weekend to recuperate at that time.
- The weekend after that is our trip to Lake Placid to XC ski under moonlight, dogsled, and snow shoe.
That ends February and then Parade Season madness begins.
